Resources for Reflection & Community
High Holidays & Elul
As we enter the season of Elul, Rosh Hashanah, and Yom Kippur, we carry both the comfort of tradition and the weight of this moment. These resources and gatherings are here to help us prepare our hearts, reflect on the year past, and step with intention into the year ahead.
Elul Together: Daily Reflections
Join our Elul WhatsApp group for a daily moment of spiritual check-in—one thoughtful prompt, song, or piece of poetry to help prepare your heart for the new year.
Curated by Rabbanit Dalia Davis, this gentle practice runs from Rosh Chodesh Elul through Rosh Hashanah (Aug 24–Sept 22).
Let’s journey into 5786 together.
Turning to Elul & Tishrei: Moving Toward the High Holidays

A special Rosh Hashanah/Yom Kippur Machzor Companion
One of the joys of the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur service is its familiarity. We recite the same words as generations before us, often with melodies that feel like home.
Yet while the prayers remain the same, we do not. Each year brings new experiences, shifting perspectives, and different needs. Some phrases may resonate in new ways, some may feel harsh or painful, and others may miss the mark entirely.
The SVIVAH Rosh Hashanah/Yom Kippur Machzor Companion gathers reflections from over 40 educators, clergy, writers, and artists. Contributors explore questions such as: What does Unetaneh Tokef mean in the face of loss? How does one approach the emphasis on birth when facing fertility struggles?
Through prayers, art, and poetry, our contributing authors and artists expand and enrich the High Holiday experience—sharing the emotions, thoughts, and kavanot (intentions) closest to their hearts this year.
