Some thoughts from R’ Dalia Davis and Jordyn Rozensky this Shabbat: 

This week’s Torah portion of Parshat Shemot introduces Batya — Pharaoh’s daughter — who saves baby Moses from the river in a quiet act of rebellion. R
Grateful to R’Dalia Davis, SVIVAH’s Director of Pastoral Education, for the beautiful and comforting Torah she shared for this week’s Torah portion of Parshat Vayechi. 

This is the last portion in the Book of Genesis — Jacob
In Hebrew, “svivah” means “to surround her.”

That’s all we’ve ever wanted — that anyone who finds their way here should experience a feeling of being surrounded.
