HerTorah: All In The Family
A Very SVIVAH Thanksgiving
Featuring Caryn Malkus, R’ Dalia Davis… and more
There is nothing better... or messier, or more loving, or more painful, or more supportive... than family.
Come hang out with us — your SVIVAH family — as we explore some of our foundational biblical conceptions of family, and how these core relationships impact our own lives and communities.
Have you ever noticed that the first families we hear of in the Book of Genesis… are an absolute mess???
There is sibling rivalry, brutal jealousy, parental favoritism, estrangement, deception, grudge-holding… and soooooo much more. You name it, and it’s there.
These foundational family stories of our ancestors can’t be coincidental. Not a single one of them tell a story of a “picture-perfect family” and yet — these are the family stories that are the bedrock of the Jewish people.
What can we learn from our biblical family tree?
And what lessons can we apply to our own families? How can we navigate different personalities and complicated relationships and lean into good conversations and opportunities for connection?
Come hang out with us. SVIVAH is one of our “families of choice” and we’d love to spend some Thanksgiving-themed time together with you. We’ll laugh a little, learn a lot, and come away feeling better all around. We’d absolutely love to see you.
Wednesday, November 19th @ 8:15-9:45pm ET
Come when you can, stay till you can’t. But, come. We have so much to learn from you.
Please invite someone you think might want to be with us, too.
