HerTorah: Women* Writing Torah Series: "Lot's Wife: A Feminist Re-telling"

with author + modern midrashist, Dr. Michal Lemberger

Featuring an introduction and framing by Dr. Judith Rosenbaum, CEO of the Jewish Women’s Archive

Where are we in the text? Where do we find ourselves? Join us in a series exploring the ways women* embed themselves into Torah. What could Torah look like with the addition of women's voices and commentaries? This series will feature women Torah commentators and sofrot (Torah scribes) who are exploring Torah from their own female perspectives, and learn how their work can expand and deepen the experience of Torah for everyone.

Acclaimed author, Dr. Michal Lemberger will helps us explore a particularly interesting biblical character — Lot’s wife. Who was Lot’s wife before she turned into a pillar of salt? Join Dr. Michal Lemberger as she explores Lot's wife's story and shares her approach to centering female characters from the Bible.

Come learn with us – our understanding of Torah is incomplete without you around our table.

As always, the conversation won't be complete without you. We want to be together with you. Tell a friend or family member to join in -- we would love to meet her, too!

Join us Wednesday 11/17 @ 8:15-9:45pm EST

Come when you can; stay till you can’t.

SVIVAH is dependent on the generosity of those who choose to invest in a powerful community of women. As always, cost should never be a barrier to anything SVIVAH, but if you can, please help us show respect to our speakers/facilitators for their time and expertise. www.svivah.org/donate
